Tandoori Chicken Skewers 

Here's a simple recipe for making delicious tandoori chicken skewers

Ingredients List:

Regarding the Marinade:

  • One and a half pounds (about 700g) of skinless, boneless chicken thighs or breasts, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • One cup of plain yogurt
  • Three tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • One spoonful of pasted ginger
  • One spoonful of pasted garlic
  • One tablespoon of coriander powder
  • One tablespoon of cumin powder
  • One-third tsp smoked paprika
  • One tsp of turmeric
  • One teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more or less to taste
  • To taste, add salt and black pepper.
  • One lemon's juice
  • For garnish, add two tablespoons of finely chopped fresh cilantro (coriander leaves).

To Serve:

  • Rice or Naan bread
  • cut red onions
  • slices of lemon
  • To garnish, use fresh cilantro.

Step By Step Guidelines:

1.  Get the marinade ready:

Yogurt, vegetable oil, smoked paprika, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice should all be combined in a bowl.

2  Give the chicken a marinade.

Make sure the chicken pieces are thoroughly coated before adding them to the marinade. To achieve the finest flavor, cover the bowl and chill for at least two hours, but preferably overnight.

3.  Take the Chicken and Skewer It:


Set the temperature of your oven or grill to medium-high.
The marinated chicken pieces should be threaded onto skewers.

4.  Bake or Grill:

Turn the skewers once or twice while grilling them for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the chicken is nicely charred and cooked through.
As an alternative, roast the skewers for 20 to 25 minutes at 400°F (200°C) in a preheated oven.

5.  Serve:

Serve the chicken skewers with tandoori sauce over rice or with naan bread.
Add chopped fresh cilantro, lemon wedges, and sliced red onions as garnish.

6.  Mint Yogurt Sauce (Raita) is optional.

Combine plain yogurt, chopped mint, a dash of cumin, and salt to make a simple mint yogurt sauce, or raita. Present it as an accompaniment.
