Ingredients list:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) softened unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of sugar, granulated
  • One cup of dense brown sugar
  • One cup of smooth peanut butter
  • Two big eggs
  • One tsp vanilla essence
  • Three cups of all-purpose flour
  • One tsp baking powder
  • One-half tsp baking soda
  • Half a teaspoon of salt
  • Extra powdered sugar (optional) for rolling

Step By Step Guidelines:

1.  Warm up the oven:

  • Set the oven temperature to 350°F (180°C). Use parchment paper to line baking sheets.

2.  Cream, butter, and sugars:

  • Beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a sizable mixing basin until the mixture is light and fluffy.

3.  Add the eggs and peanut butter:

  • To the creamed mixture, add the eggs, peanut butter, and vanilla extract. Beat until thoroughly mixed.

4.  Mix the dry ingredients together:

  • Mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a another basin.

5.  Combine the wet and dry. Components:

  • Mixing until just incorporated, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ones. Avoid over-mixing.
6.  Shape the dough into balls:

  • form the cookie dough into tablespoon-sized chunks and form them into balls. To give the outside of each ball a little crunch, feel free to coat them in extra powdered sugar.

7.  Transfer to Baking Sheets:

  • Leaving some space between each, place the cookie dough balls on the baking sheets that have been prepared.

8.  Use a fork to flatten (optional):

  • If you enjoy the traditional peanut butter cookie crisscross design, you can use a fork to gently press each ball of cookie dough to make a pattern on top.

9.  Cook:

  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown, in a preheated oven. While they cool, the centers will continue to set even if they may appear a little underdone.

10.  Cool:

  • After a few minutes, let the cookies cool on the baking sheets before moving them to a wire rack to finish cooling.

11.  Have fun:

  • Enjoy your handmade peanut butter cookies after they've totally cooled!

These cookies have a wonderful peanut butter flavor and are chewy and moist. If you would like, you can also add chopped peanuts or chocolate chips for more texture. Cheers to your baking!
